Facial developmental vascular anomalies.

Developmental vascular anomalies of the head and neck may give rise to profound esthetic problems that are a challenge to treat. These vascular anomalies may also be of significance in dentistry, particularly where extractions have to be carried out. This brief report describes a number of children who presented with different variations of these anomalies.

Vascular anomalies of the head and neck.

Vascular abnormalities of the head and neck are relatively uncommon lesions. An understanding of these anomalies based on their pathogenesis and natural history clearly divides them into hemangiomas and vascular malformations. Treatment strategies that are reasonable and predictable can then be devised based on the aforementioned factors.
